Contextual Fit
Project Outline
In this project, we need to design an addition to the Smith House, built in 1965 by architect Richard Meier. The new design should respect the original house by studying and using its existing design and patterns.
We also need to create a concept that meets the homeowners’ current needs, while adding new features or ideas that were not in the original house.
Narrative
The Smith family has been closely related to Formula 1 for the past two decades, especially Mr. Smith, a famous Formula 1 car designer. Because of this strong connection, the family is requesting a house addition that reflects the atmosphere of Formula 1.
Mr. Smith would like to have a dedicated space where he can design Formula 1 cars while feeling connected to the same Formula 1 environment that inspires his work.
The addition will create a space that reflects the energy and spirit of Formula 1 while serving as a functional workspace.
